I am a white, able-bodied, neurodivergent, cisgender woman. I am a single-parent and fierce mama bear. I am a yoga practitioner and teacher, a permaculturalist, artist, and healer. I am a weaver of words and a reader of the planets and stars. I am a tear-listener and sea inhabitant. I am the descendent of Sicilian immigrants through my mother’s lineage, and the descendent of Northern Irish, Scottish, and Jewish immigrants through my father’s lineage. I am a recovering academic. I am a foster mama and guardian to many abandoned four-leggeds. I am an animist in love with Nature, the land and my more-than-human kin. I am an unsettled settler on the ancestral lands of the Eastern Band of Cherokee, the Occaneechi Band of the Saponi Nation, and the Coharie, Haliwa-Saponi, Lumbee, Meherrin, Sappony, and Waccamaw Siouan tribes, known today as North Carolina.
